Thomas Provoost and Antoine Bauza, two well-known names in the board game industry have joined forces to found a new publishing company called PlayPunk. An official announcement was released via the company’s Twitter account.

Thomas Provoost, co-founder and co-manager of Repos Production, the company behind beloved games such as 7 Wonders, Concept, and Just One, partnered with Bauza, the designer of popular games such as Hanabi, Tokaido, Ghost Stories, and Takenoko. The two have already collaborated on the 7 Wonders series.

Having built a strong relationship through their previous collaboration, the pair also shared a common vision regarding the publishing process, so PlayPunk is a natural extension of their partnership.

The new publishing company aims to support authors as key figures in the game publishing process while emphasizing the production value of their future games. The press release states, “To achieve this goal, PlayPunk will take the time to refine its games and maintain a limited catalog.”

PlayPunk has already announced two projects they are currently working on. One is a family game for two to five players designed by Remo Conzadori and Paolo Mori, the designer of Libertalia. The second is an expert game by Grégory Grard and Mathieu Roussel, set to release at Essen Spiel 2024.

We’re excited to see what the team behind one of our beloved two-player games (yes, it’s 7 Wonders Duel) has in store for us next.
