Wizards of the Coast has just revealed a card that could potentially become a life-changing, multimillion investment. Why? There’s going to be just one copy of it!
In a recent preview of the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set for Magic: The Gathering, the publisher revealed many exciting cards LoTR fans will be eager to get their hands on. Among those cards will be a unique, one-of-a-kind version of The One Ring card:
What makes this card so special, aside from the Wizards printing just one copy of it, is that its text is written in the Black Speech of Sauron. The art also goes all the way to the card’s edge, and it will have a unique foil finish to truly stand out from everything we’ve seen in Magic cards thus far.
While the initial announcement made it seem like nobody else could get The One Ring, turns out there will be “normal” versions of the card in distribution. Unlike the collector card above, though, the regular card will have text in English, with standard text background, and familiar iconography. It will still be a Mythic card, meaning that it’ll be very rare, but it will come in all popular formats, including Commander. And, yes, it will be a very powerful addition to your combos, of course!
So, how and when can you start hunting for this golden ticket of sorts? You’ll need to purchase Collector Booster packs for The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, which launches this summer. Considering the booster box is valued at around $450, this will definitely be one expensive adventure to embark on.
