“I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.”

If that quote means anything to you (and don’t worry – we just cried, too), then the big news coming from Gale Force Nine will make you smile.

Firefly: The Game is coming back! Exactly ten years after the original game was published at Gen Con, the publisher launched a campaign on the crowdfunding website Gamefound for the Firefly: The Game – 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edtion. Or, as the blurb on the page says – the ultimate edition for true Browncoats.

So, what’s inside this giant box? Literally, everything ever published for this cult classic board game. That means you’ll get the base Firefly board game, all of its expansions, every piece of promotional content GF9 gave out, but also the brand-new Still Flying expansion pack. That’s over 1,000 cards and 450 tokens.

The publisher is making this edition even fancier by including a custom-made storage solution, an enamel metal first-player token, a bunch of hand-painted resin ships, and a giant (20” x 50”) neoprene game board. Furthermore, this is a one-off print, and GF9 currently has no plans to reprint this edition outside of this campaign.

Considering the amount of content, the price is rather fair – $220 for the whole Collector’s edition or $130 if you want just the upgraded components, storage box, and the new expansion.

The campaign for Firefly: The Game – 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition is running for another 20 days, and the delivery is planned for early 2024.
